Reforestation Project

Climate Change & Our Carbon Footprint

We understand the importance of our carbon footprint and the impact of our day-to-day business activities on climate change.

Most of the devastating consequences of climate change on our planet and human lives will be irreversible if we don’t act now.

Our Contribution

We are committed to addressing UN Sustainability Goal Number 13, that is, to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

Besides our green office practices we have partnered with EcoMatcher to offer a direct solution to our clients and employees to offset some of their carbon footprint involved in the recruitment process.

How?

For every employee we hire at NLSearch, we adopt and gift 1 newly planted tree to that employee.

We also extend this offer to our clients and for each permanent placement made by NLSearch, we adopt and gift 1 newly planted tree to our client.

This works to offset some carbon accumulated in our business practices in order for us to maintain a low carbon recruitment process.

Benefits of tree planting

Trees sequester carbon and other greenhouse gas that significantly contribute to climate change and, in turn, replenish the atmosphere with oxygen.

Planting trees also helps to reduce soil salinity, combats wind and water erosion, enhances biodiversity and restores habitats for native animals.

While offsetting our carbon, tree planting also provides local employment, supports local businesses, villages and entire communities. We couldn’t think of a better way to exercise our responsibility.’

Our Green Office                                                                         

In order to manage our environmental footprint, we have implemented a ‘go green’ policy in our offices. Waste reduction, reduced resource consumption and energy efficiency are just some of the ways in which we are working towards an eco-friendly office.   

While a full list of our green practices can be found in our Environmental Policy, here are some of the ways we are being more conscious: 

Transport 

We minimise the energy impact of travel: – 

  • We encourage our workforce to travel to work by public transport and where possible, by walking; 

  • We encourage the use of video conferencing and audio call technology to reduce travel for business meetings.
